I, Space-Boy, Illuminate the South African Hip-Hop Scene

I am Space-Boy, a rising pioneer in the Hip-Hop realm, encompassing the roles of rapper, singer-songwriter, producer, tech enthusiast, and Co-Founder of EPS Records alongside my esteemed partners. EPS Records is poised to become the home of South Africa’s next top rappers, and I couldn’t be more excited about the journey ahead. My latest release, “Private Island,” has garnered an impressive 10,000 streams on Spotify, while my debut single “Who’s You” is close to hitting the 20,000 stream mark on the same platform. Additionally, a video on my Instagram account has garnered over 500,000 views, showcasing the growing enthusiasm for my music.

Hailing from Mpumalanga, a province often overlooked in the music industry, I am determined to change that narrative. I don’t conform to traditional musician stereotypes; I strive to be different, pushing boundaries and exploring new avenues for artistic expression. One of my core beliefs is that people should directly support artists by purchasing their art. This belief has led me to platforms like Bandcamp and EVEN biz (a new American platform allowing artists to sell directly to fans) while also utilizing other DSPs to promote my music.

Despite my young age of 19, I’ve been on this journey since I was 17, releasing an EP titled “And I’m only 17,” inspired by A-Reece’s work. Every day, I share content on my Instagram (@_spaceboymusic), staying connected with my audience and strategically planning my music releases. My inspirations include artists like A-Reece, La Russell, Russ, Shane Eagle, Blxckie, Joey Badass, Tory Lanez, among others, who have shaped my artistic vision and drive for excellence.
