Maetaa, whose true name is Refilwe Motloung from North West, is a ten-year veteran of the hip-hop scene and the epitome of the farm lady meta rapper. She has been mentored by artists such as the late HHP, had songs produced by the renowned Beat Mochini, and is currently putting out music under her label Ride The Wave. Some of Maetaa’s songs have appeared in locally produced content on Mzansi Magic, Channel O, MTV, and in Motswako The Origins, Africa’s first hip-hop book. She has worked with companies like Scottish Leader Whisky, Mr Price Fashion, and most recently, Le Creuset’s Instagram page. She naturally astounds a variety of audiences with her avant-garde theatrical persona. Maetaa released a track titled “Jewellery Store” on a drill beat created by Huey Ozyl on October 31st, 2023.
