The single compliments the set mood and tone which her single “Smoke Signals” has set out in over the past 2 months with a mind-blowing listenership of over 20 000 total streams across various streaming platforms, making it her biggest single to date. Zimkitha and Tasha HendrixX spent the past month promoting the brand-new single through various content pieces that unfold moments leading to this particular release across their social media profiles.
“Complicated” gradually expands on a relationship where the partners are slowly growing apart from one another as the girlfriend begins to notice a subtle change in behaviour and how the boyfriend looks at other women around her. This leads to a variety of complexities in the relationship as they both do not know if whether they are coming or going and that’s what leads to the sudden drift. Although they both hope that it all gets better and their relationship dynamic becomes stronger, they can both see a sinking ship because of one’s disinterest towards the relationship.
TashaHendrixX taps into the song with a heartfelt verse as she expresses how much she poured into the relationship and got back from the lover. As his cheating and sneaky ways steadily begin to catch up with him from the female perfumes to the lipstick and absence at home.
The song is an infusion of R&B, Neo-Soul with a touch of jazz elements and Rap as each artist brings to life a certain vision in order to best express their message across the song. It sets the mood of chilled romance as it expresses a tone of love through a well woven mixture of instrumentals.

About Zimkitha:
Zimkitha Kumbaca, better known as Zimkitha is a singer/songwriter disciplined in music, acting, and writing. While she is from King William’s Town, Eastern Cape (South Africa); she spent her high school career in Pretoria, fine-tuning her songwriting and singing skills through poetry sessions, participating in an indie band, Travellin’ Blak, choir competitions, and vocal training.
Thereafter, she continued her studies at the Tshwane University of Technology (TUT) in pursuit of a diploma and Btech in Drama & Film Studies. Her acting career has yielded credits on shows such as eTV’s Matatiele playing Nontle, Amazon Prime’s Makoti S2 starring as Qhama, international feature film, Beautifully Broken, Mzansi Magic’s Mzali Wami S1 & S2, and more. She is currently playing the role of ‘Nomtshato’ on Mzansi Magic Telenovela, “My Brother’s Keeper”.
It is her music career, however, that has seen her take towards R&B for collaborations with artists like Marcus Harvey, Bugzito, Beatmochini and Mo Molemi. As a musician, her craft is currently rooted in R&B soundscapes. In addition, Zimkitha is also a songwriter, composer, playwright and Naledi Theatre Award Nominated director/performer.
