Tae Africa Joins Forces With DJ Switch To Release Joint Project “4THEMO$H”

Following the release of his first single of the year “iBang” with Benjii_sa is uprising rapper, Tae Africa as he unites with iconic producer, DJ and now Podcaster, DJ Switch to release a joint project titled “4THEMO$H”.

The Hip-Hop project features 7-tracks with stellar appearances from ‘Gaffi’, ‘Bravo Le Roux’ and ‘Bhut’Legend’ who all share one thing in common, coming out from Cape Town including DJ Switch himself. This excludes Tae Africa as he reps, Eastern Cape. In the project you explore a variety of sounds from subtle conscious rap to hype trap for the streets.

Each single is a journey as each artist offers a fun filled tale to formulate a party anthem if

not, then a song of relaxation and deep thoughts. It is a project for the books as the young and old unite to create music for the streets which accommodates people of all ages as they promote nothing but fun and being youthful. So the big question is, ARE YOU READY 4THEMO$H?

Tracklist:

Track 1 – Intro (Sbu Zuma Interlude)

A somewhat traditional approach to Hip Hop intro songs and interludes. There is notable bass drops or any hard sounds as the emphiasis is on the narration of the song and getiing everyone ready for the energy that is to come. ‘Meal starters’ or ‘pallet cleansers’ if you will.

Track 2 – Askies Ta ft Gaffi

Immediately the energy picks up as we are introduced to a faster tempo. ‘Askies Ta’ translates to ‘excuse me sir’. This serves as to say to all persons opposing or not understanding the reasons why the said artists (Tae Africa and Gaffi) act and speak the way they do. The featured artists go forth and attempt to explain that they are the way that they simply because they are from the Eastern Cape. Production credits go to Le Austine and Block66 .

Track 3 – Iyhu ft Bhut’Legend

‘Iyhu’ is essentially used as a sigh in isiXhosa and is closely related to an English “damn”. The producers (Zino D & LD) brought in the perfect blend between melodic piano keys and hard 808s. The song infuses story telling high energy perfect for the moshpit.

Track 4 – Kaso

‘Kaso” or in English, “like this” narrates a story where there are always people with advice and most times the advice does not come from a good place. Again, the producer Msaibeats brought in all the melodies neccesarry to captivate audiences without forgetting to maintain the vibes.

Track 5 – Mali ft Bravo le Roux

Mali is the peak of the project as the vibes here sky rocket. Knifebeatz and Shaney Jay come together to unleash a mammoth creature built from 808s, baselines andhard knocking purcussions. Bravo leRoux is brings through a catchy hook which makes this the ‘mecca’ on the project.

Track 6 – QWEL’

In modern day youth slang, to qwel is demolish and is commonly when referring to life and life opsticals. There is an underlying to of motivation on this song which sees a blend of hard isiXhosa and catchy phrases meanwhile maintaining high energies throughout.

Track 7 – Big Yonkinto

When listening to this song, you can immediately pick up a change in sound as we again are introduced to a slower sound with no 808s but instead a log drum. A vibrant song nonetheless, it speaks to the ever continuous long the lavish life.

About Tae Africa:

Tae Africa, born Litha Njube,is a 28 year old South African musician from the Eastern Cape. He has released big songs like”ThongoLam” featuring Nigerian artist Badman Payseen and South African musician / actor Tuckshop Bafanaz,

“She” and debuted a project in the form of an EP “5-To” which has mega songs like “My Boy” and “Damn”. Tae Africa got his first nomination for MIXTAPE of the year at the SAHHAS for his contribution on Rise Of Istrato with Bravo le ROUX and DJ SWITCH in 2021 which also charted for 5 weeks on 5FM.

Recently having signed with distributor, CCA, Tae Africa released his debut album, Facets and followed up with a new single ft Benji SA tited ‘iBang’.
